Carrie's Place

Last month we had the pleasure of teaming up with some incredible local businesses to assist with the upgrade of the Carrie's Place HQ. Carrie’s Place is a domestic and family violence and specialist homelessness service who have been providing support across the Maitland and Lower Hunter areas since 1979.

If you, would like to make a donation to help those in need please click here.

A note from Helen,

With a vision of “Our communities: zero tolerance to violence and homelessness” Carrie’s Place is a domestic and family violence and specialist homelessness service who have been providing support across the Maitland and Lower Hunter areas since 1979.

Our mission is to increase the number of families who are housed, safe, and living free from abuse.

Carrie’s Place provides a broad range of person-centred, culturally appropriate programs to empower vulnerable people who have experienced domestic violence and/ or homelessness.

We are currently setting up a new Community Hub in East Maitland to support the provision of domestic violence and homelessness services in the Hunter community.

The Hub will play a key role in triaging and supporting a growing number of clients and their families through dedicated referral, intake and case management activities.

To date, Carrie’s Place has received amazing support in setting up the reception area of the Hub. This has included:

  • Multiplex Construction @multiplexconstruction_au in NSW, who tidied up the plasterboard, painted and installed new carpet tiles in the reception area

  • Haptic Studio @studiohaptic, a local architectural firm in the Maitland regional area, has provided pro-bono support to develop a trauma-informed interior design concept.

  • Stone Italiana NSW @stoneitaliana, donated the stunning Lido slab from the Inserti collection for the new reception countertop

  • Hunter Valley Granite and Marble @huntervalleygranitemarble, who sculpted the slab, removed the existing countertop and installed the fabulous new one – all free of charge.

  • East Maitland Bowling Club @eastsclubs for funding the meeting room furniture which allows us to better support our clients
